Teresa lurched forward, letting out an alarmed yelp as consciousness returned to her with a start. If she still had a functioning heart, she was certain it would be pounding in her chest right now. The Froslass steadied her posture, forcing herself to take several slow, deep breaths, calming her nerves from what her mind just experienced. Okay, best to take stock, she thought. That’s right, she’s in Reiko’s home, specifically the upstairs nook. On the floor in front of her was a book, opened and laying flat on the floor. Must have been launched when she shot awake. That means she likely fell asleep while reading up here. Out of curiosity, she scooped the tome up and began to flip through it’s pages, to see if anything within might have caused her to have such a vivid dream. No such luck, it was just some romance drama. “Enjoying the book, Tee?” Nilus asked, grabbing his partner’s attention. She didn’t notice his approach, given her preoccupied mind. “Hm? Oh, um, sure? Actually, I

Fortunately, the farm didn’t seem too far out from Rift City. The less time they have to spend carting this guy to the correctional facility, the better. No telling what his gang of troublemakers might have in store. Teresa floated alongside the would-be caravan, doing her best to stay alert for threats. No easy task, given how strange this day was proving. The sky above looked like it rippled as the ocean waves, yet nobody else seemed to notice. Was her mind playing tricks? It felt like the stability of the world wavered as they drew closer to their destination. Maybe… maybe it would help to try and remember how she got to this point? Let’s see, she had offered to help with the aftermath of this attack with Nilus. Right? Wait, wasn’t she somewhere else before this? Before she could ponder this further, the sound of rustling bushes and broken branches caught her attention, coming from her left side. “Don’t get too comfy, ghost girl!” Her head snapped to the carriage beside her

Getting things in order for the farm work was easy enough. If this was some sort of dream, it was shockingly vivid and detailed. Yet for Teresa, she couldn’t quite shake the feeling of unease that settled over her like a cloud. Her gaze would turn to the sky above every now and again, and if she focused on it hard enough, she could swear there was a shimmer of something else there… Not that she had a wealth of time to test that theory, however. The farmland was left in poor shape in the wake of that bandit attack. Holes everywhere, crops ruined. She was pretty certain she saw an Onyx nearby, though they were firmly refused passage onto the fields. Probably for the best, that. The duo quickly found a corner of land to get replanted, though Teresa was alone in getting the soil prepared, given that she alone had the hands needed for the job. Nilus hardly got off easy, however, as the Castform was struggling under the weight of the bag strapped around him. There were… a LOT of seeds to

This was… strange. Squinted eyes scanned the area, the Froslass in question trying to get some sense of where she was. This was… Rift City, right? Or at least, somewhere nearby. But why was she here? HOW was she here? Was this another dream? As Teresa silently pondered the situation, she caught a glimpse, a split second shimmer, filling the sky. Was that… a forest? Wait, was this-? “Something up?” Her attention was torn from the anomaly above by a familiar voice reaching out to her, her Castform partner looking up at her in curiosity, and mild worry. “You got that look of yours, the ‘my mind is wandering into dangerous waters’ look.” “Oh. Umm…” Teresa’s gaze flicked up for a brief moment, checking the sky for more strangeness. “... It’s nothing, I’m fine now.” She lied, giving her best reassuring smile to the man. She wasn’t sure if this was a dream, or if she was seeing things, or something else entirely, but for now, she opted to act as though she were in the waking world. If this

She wasn't sure when exactly she became aware of her surroundings, the feeling of lucidity hitting her like a sudden gust of wind. She was upright, her ghostly form floating a small ways above the ground. At least, she assumed it was the ground. The specter looked up to where the sky should have been, yet all that greeted her was the sight of more grass. Shifting her gaze to the horizon, the world she inhabited seemed to be shaped like a tube, the green landscape dotted with ancient structures, maintained in perfect condition. What on earth was this place? How did she even get here. Taking stock of her situation, the first thing that crossed her mind - other than the bizarre layout of this reality - was the absence of her partner. Were they separated? Was he also stuck in this land, same as her? Curious eyes scanned up and down the tube, yet there was not a Castform to be found. What *did* dot the ‘fields’ around her, however, were more lost souls. Ghosts like her, their mortal lives

Though he didn’t exactly have enough hands for the task (or, more accurately, no hands at all), the Castform whose tiny little body was laden with the weight of a large bag easily twice his size managed with some slight difficulty to slip the straps of the big carry-on into the nook of one small, curly appendage underneath his head and then grasp at the handle of the door in front of him with a wispy lock of vapor, pushing it inward. The warmer air inside the home blasted out to greet him, knocking his floating body slightly out of balance for a moment. Of course, he was accustomed to situations like this and recovered instantly, pushing forward into his home. His partner was, of course, seated inside of the house in one of her favorite spots – a lounging chair where she had a decent view of much of the house, including the floor where the Castform’s latest art project stood on a high easel surrounded by small sheets littered with spatters of wayward colored paints.
